Planning your big day from afar

These days couples are moving away from traditional style weddings and leaning more towards creating a celebration of love that reflects their own personal style, tastes and interests.

As a wedding planner here on the beautiful island of Cyprus, I’ve seen many different types of services and ceremonies, from very low key to completely extravagant. The one common thread running through is that each wedding day was bespoke to each couple and that is what we here at Wedding Bliss Cyprus wish to provide for our Brides and Grooms.

Once a couple come down (not too much!) from the euphoria of becoming engaged they start to think about the actual general wedding planning which, if you have chosen a destination wedding, can seem quite daunting and overwhelming.

It is at this point that social media forums can be very useful for a bride-to-be, especially ones that are dedicated to Cyprus. These platforms are great for interacting with fellow brides-to-be and brides that have already been married here in Cyprus.

Ultimately it is your choice and decision, but we find that our brides always benefit from interacting with past and present brides on the experiences that they have had and enjoyed when choosing to marry abroad, after all, personal recommendations and stories can be so helpful.

It is at this stage that I’d always recommend choosing your wedding planner. Your wedding planner will become your best friend on the lead up to your wedding. With integral local knowledge of venues, suppliers and the legal system for marrying in Cyprus they are worth their weight in gold when it comes to planning your special day from afar.

Even if you have already chosen your preferred venue, remember that your planner will no doubt already have a good working relationship with them and being there with feet on the ground you can relax knowing that every detail, no matter how small, will be well taken care of, with minimal fuss or stress for you.

Getting to know a new couple is one of the best parts of my job as a wedding planner, I love hearing how you’ve met, your engagement story and how you both envisage your special day.

Finally, the most important part of my job and also the most rewarding is achieving those expectations and going above and beyond to deliver the ultimate, bespoke wedding of your dreams, tailored exactly to your taste. I’m not a ‘conveyor belt’ wedding planner, and your big day is not just ‘another wedding’ on my calendar. My passion is to provide an intimate, dedicated, and personal wedding planning service and I can’t wait to hear from you and get started on our journey in creating your dream wedding here in Cyprus.

Wedding Bliss loves: wedding cake

If you ask me what one of the most exciting parts of planning a wedding is, I must confess that cake ranks very highly on my list. How could it not? Not only does your wedding cake compliment your theme and décor, it brings it to life; your wedding cake doesn’t just look pretty, it is a work of art; and…let’s not forget, it also tastes delicious. What’s NOT to love?!

Have you always had a picture of your dream wedding cake in your head? Or not a clue where to start? Either way, as your wedding planner I am here to make sure that together, with our incredible cake supplier, we create a cake that will take your breath away, and wow each of  your guests.

After all, your cake is not simply a dessert, or a minor detail – it’s a beautiful element of your big day that gets a deserved amount of attention and adoration whilst you and your partner cut the very first slice together, hand in hand, as Mr & Mrs. Traditionally, this symbolises the first activity carried out as a couple.

‘Why are wedding cakes so expensive?’ is a frequent search phrase on the internet. It’s also one that I find easy to answer. Wedding cakes are not ‘expensive’ in so much the connotation that this word can sometimes find itself, meaning over-priced. Wedding cakes are an art – their creators spend hours designing and bringing that design to life, you taste and choose from the finest of flavours so that this work of art will not only look, but will taste, incredible. It’s edible-art. A bespoke service. A dream turned into something people can taste and enjoy. It’s so far beyond a bog-standard piece of cake at a café, which, if you paid for each slice for every wedding guest, would still sound ‘expensive’.

So what’s hot on the wedding cake frontier for 2020? http://www.weddingcakesinvirginia.com have created a blog post highlighting the top 5 trends for wedding cake designs for next year, which Wedding Bliss Cyprus just love….multi-tiered masterpieces, fault-line frosting, cakecicles, sprinkle all the things and palette painted cakes and sure to be wowing wedding ceremonies according to them. Take a look for yourself to discover what each style is all about, and why we fully agree that they should be trending: https://www.weddingcakesinvirginia.com/rebekah-naomi-cake-blog/2019/7/15/5-wedding-cake-trends-for-2020

Personally, I’m so happy to see the return of the multi-tiered cakes – they’re simply breath-taking!

Our preferred cake supplier here in Cyprus offer a bespoke design service taking every part of your day into consideration; wedding party attire details (shape of your dress, colours, lace/pearl/crystal details, pleating, silks), flowers and venue decoration and themes, invitation and stationary design and the venue and setting itself. So rest assured, if you don’t have a picture of your dream cake in mind, we WILL create it.

Using only the finest ingredients (shipping many items direct from England, France and further afield!), our supplier never uses artificial flavours or preservatives and can of course provide dairy-free, nut-free and gluten-free cakes. We make sure it’s covered, from quality to style. We seek perfection for you.

So let’s get working on those wedding cake dreams of yours – but be warned, I may just get as excited as you during the process!
